  • To get that sitar type resonance you need a bridge which has a larger than normal contact point with the strings played. On a sitar this is bone, but I have had a certain amount of success with a catfish stoptail as a wrap over bridge in a fixed position, even for six strings.
    I did one in brass and one in chromed metal. No great difference there.
    If you aim to go DIY you could always use a piece of copper piping as a wrap over bridge...
