I stumbled on to that yeaterday. They also have some instructions on making pickups and other guitar items. Does look pretty cool.

We could have a whole new trend in CBGs..... Scallopped fretboards for speed blues!

Years ago in guitar player, there was an article on scalloped fretboards. There were several prominent players who used them, though of course I don't remember any...

The advantage is the ability to produce micro-bends by squeezing the string harder, and also produce much easier vibrato effects as you don't have the friction of the fingerboard working against you.
The downside is that you have to be very careful when fretting normally; you need to develop a light touch.

I found the instructables site awhile back. Some of the stuff is just stupid, but there are some pretty cool ideas on there. Do a search for "guitar" and you'll find some other things. The "Trash-o-caster" is interesting.

As I recall it was the Vais and Malmstreems of the world that were playing scalloped frets.... made for faster play apparently. And led to loads of wannabe kids ruining perfectly good fretboards!
The only CBGer Im aware of that has scalloped is Randy Bretz, though his was a slight variation on the theme.... worked well though judging by his video demo.
I keep hearing of this 'Indestructables' site but Im scared to go on it.... I only popped into the Nation for a quick look and look what happened lol
