At least that's what everyone keeps saying.
So OK, here's my major rule breakage. Old (turn 69 the 17th), arthritic hands, and a non-player to boot. So for my cbg noodling I string left handed, and 'play' right handed, that is, thin to thick, top to bottom.
Anyone else do that? Just wonderin'...

Hi, many guitarists have done so over the decades, my first memory is Elizabeth Cotton (Freight Train) way back in the day. But three stringers I don't know.

Yep, two others that buck the rules are Jeff Healey (guitar flat on lap, but not sliding) and Dave Hole (slides from over the top of the fingerboard. Oh, don't forget the guys who can play with their toes and Django Reinhardt jazz guitarist using only two fingers.
Theres more I bet. Where there's a will, and a need, who needs rules.

That's pretty cool. His advantage over me though is that he knows how to play guitar...
his major advantage over you is that he has played and practised for many years.. nobody can pick up a guitar and play like that in 3 months or even 3 years..lol
practise and playing is the only way to get comfortable on the fretboard wether slide or fretted. Time, it takes Time. so dont get disheartened.. play for the fun of it .
Oh I'm gonna try to play. I'm looking at Shane Speal's and Justin Johnson's vids. Very interested in one finger (barre) playing
