  •  The Roland street EX($499), Roland street cube($299) and the Roland micro cube($149) are all available in my town.   There is a busker here who uses the EX with his acoustic,it sounds great.  So , I went to the music store and looked at the EX. The EX has no gain knob.   Well, that's a no go for me because I like to "dial my distortion in" using gain and volume .     So, I tried out the Roland street cube, which has a gain knob.  I liked it,but couldn't get over looking at the two 6.5 inch speakers and the $299 price tag.   So, I walked out with out it.      I am going to another music store in town today and plan on buying the Roland micro cube, unless it disappoints me. The Roland micro cube has a feature I'm excited to try out, that the other amps don't,  and that is a Master volume knob.  Very handy when distortion is dialed in through gain and volume.      All three amps have a iphone, ipad, ipod jack in and a record out.  For "MY"general use I think it's the Roland micro cube.   If I ever play at a larger venue I'll resign to plugging in my Roland 20 that I picked up for $50 at a pawn shop.      Best of luck in your purchase!

    • I picked up the street cube i needed something to enhance my weak vocals and battery powered   I have a Yamaha THR 5 that I love just nothing for a microphone,I like the street cube it really boost the vocals and is plenty loud.

      •   Glad to hear you got the amp that works for you !  The microphone jack is a great plus.      I did buy the Roland micro cube today.   Sounds great and will work for demoing and my limited street performing.

  • The idea that you can have pre recorded music to play along with. Meaning you could have your own custom back up band is awesome. With it's own volume even. Definitely something I'm interested in checking out as well.

  • Sorry, i don't own either amp. Bud did find this vid on Youtube. Kinda hopes this helps.

Guess it depends on what your looking for in an amp. For me the sound alone in the EX would be worth the extra 200.

    • The fact that you can pump an entire band through two of them linked has me wondering if I should snag a couple...
