If somebody is interested, i propose to build a soldered metal resonator. I love tin soldering, and can made a photo tutorial step by step. For me is a way to "thank you everybody" for all that i have discovered here. Of course a very advanced cone resonator, Helmoltz based.

I just finished a resonator baritone uke that used a stainless dog bowl from Target. It has a nice ring to it, sort of sounds like a banjo. Can't go wrong for $5.

Hi All.

FYI. I have a list of resonator cone makers/sellers on this CBN discussion group: Home Made Resonator Boxes 101. If you know of any more, let me know and I can add to the list. The site also has some other links of interest as well.

Just wandering if a Baby Moon hubcap would make a good reso cone? I almost picked one up off the side of the road the other day. I'm afraid it might be to thick of material. Any one heard of this?

3 of my 5 cbg's have used the 6 inch lowe cone, I started the 4th today after giving them all away at Christmas. The first used no resonator (nor a cigar box, just all hand made), and I made a quick one using a paint can lid. The cones sound fantastic. The paint can lid, from a medium can, not the really small ones, sounded quite a lot more banjo like than anything else, but did sound good. In truth the lowe cones are so much easier to mount that the paint can lid took longer.
I do both bolt and glue the cones down, seems to help the sustain and tone.
