I'm about the build a six string using an old Squier neck. I'd like to remove the decal and do the least amout of damage to the finish.
In the past I've sanded the decal off the headstock.
Is there a better way?

I used an Eberhard Pink Pearl eraser. I taped around the logo and with just a little bit of elbow grease, it came off. The clear coat under it was fine and buffed out nicely. The only problem I had was that it left a shadow and if you look close, you can still read what was there. I guess the decal protected the area underneath from UV fading.
Rob all I use it the wife's hand held hair dryer....works like a charm
