I can not make the finger stretch required to do some of the chords on  my 3 string cbg tuned GDg

The scale length I have is 23 3/4" for example the c chord  with it's 5th to 2nd fret stretch is just not possible for me.

What is a reasonable scale length  for  a better fit to my hands?  I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks Ron H

  • You should give the "other" open G tuning a try Ronald.  It's D G B and offers a lot of easy chord shapes.

  • You might wanna try an alternate chord fingering? One finger across all three strings at 5th fret is a C? Here’s one, just a little shorter, 23”. You may wanna just do some experiments on scale length as you’re the one who knows your limitations? I suggest downloading a fret template calculator? Cheers
