Please Teach an Old Dog a New Trick.

This is my first post so Hi Everyone is in order, With that said I would like to get a little help if some one would be so kind.

I think I'm going to give it a try to make a Cigar Box 3-string, with out the cigar box.

I'm going to build the box because I want it to have a rustic look but I have a few questions before I do this from some one that is a lot smarter than I.

First what size? Was thinking 9.5 x 13.25 x 3.0 but I don't know.

Second thing is thickness of the wood. Top, Sides and Back.

Any help some one can whisper in my ear would be great.

But please be forewarned. I have a lot of questions from neck angle to frets to bracing the box.

The last box I made was 8x16x2 thickness was 3/16 all round, braced all the corners and ended up with alot of volume from the box acoustically. Used poplar for the box.

Well covered by the above. Personally, I'd plan on making a few (just because you can!) and start with a cigar box and unfretted... It goes pretty fast, and you'll learn alot..
