OK, so for those of you that sell your builds I'm sure you've run in to what I'm running in to now. What is the best way to ship the CBG you've just sold?

I just shipped the very first CBG I've ever sold and I have to tell you I got hosed, nothing should cost that much to pack up and ship. I'm not even gonna say how much it was here cause it's embarrasing.

So please let me know, what do you guys do? What carrier do you use to ship them? Where do you get the boxes and dtuff if you do it yourself?

I'm so pissed right now that I might not sell another one if I can't find a way to do it within reason.

Thanks guys, all the best to you,

BigB

P.S. Damn, no spell check on here

  • I shipped a CBG recently for a customer that was flyin and didnt have room.Sent it by the Post Office and it cost me $28 to send to ND.I didnt do my homework, was in a hurry with other customers in the store at the time, and I got hosed.
Considering the CBG itself was only $85.55 WITH TAX,I didnt do so well on that sale.
  • Sorry i forgot to tell you about the packing any music store has box's that they get new gits in they will let you have them to get them out of the way you may want to cut them down a bit but they work great for me.
  • I've sold over 200 CBG's and most of them have been shipped UPS If they are going over seas I have to use the post office. UPS gives you a small amount of Ins and the post office charges for it. Also if you ship to a business you get a discount with UPS.
  • Thanks for the recipe dude, I'm feeling a lot better about shipping then I did this afternoon LOL

I use a homemade box with lots and lots of padding, first bubble wrap, then newspaper, then shredded paper, and throw it in a box cut to fit from boxes i get from work. Then USPS parcel post insured, you can ship pretty much anywhere in the US for 15 or less.
  • Thanks for that link dude, that helps me out a lot. I'm just gonna make my own boxes from now on.

Check out this thread: http://www.cigarboxnation.com/forum/topics/shipping-boxes, it's got some good info.

Man, I once used one of those so-called shipping stores, and just got reamed on the price. The next time I made my own shipping box, shipped it USPS, and it was well over a third cheaper.
