Paging Dr. Silent Jim. . . Paging Dr. Silent Jim. . .
I have a new idea for a Jamateur Collabhut project. I have an instrumental I'm calling Evolution for now and an idea for getting others to add in some riffs based on I V I 3-string tuning to help complete the song and keep it from being too repetitive. I'll post up a video tonight with the starting materials.
Looking forward to another success like our "Time Stands Still on the Burying Ground" project!

The sound quality on this video sucks. Really sucks. But hopefully you can get enough from it for some ideas. Not really looking to produce a recording of this take. :)
Have fun. Let me know what you have to add.
Don't know how much I can contribute... But I can sure learn some things! I'll sit back, watch and learn, and speak up if something strikes me! Sounds like a catchy combination out of the box.
sounds great... get some hammer ons an pull offs going with some string bends for a little more expression
ED
Here's a few snap ons and pull and bends I did for Paul
To give you ideas of how you could add expressions to the great riff you already have
Thank you, sir. I gots me some homework to do.
I'll rip off an mp3 recording this weekend. All I have now is the video.
Sorry Ron. No mp3 this weekend. That blister on the tip of my ring finger is being a pain. I'm playing through it, but not well enough to do much of anything in the way of recording. I have a busy week of work ahead so maybe I'll have some recovery time before I leave for England on the 2nd.
Hi Jim,
Actually, for this one I envisioned keeping the engineering simpler. I thought soliciting for complementary riffs would allow all of us to collect a buffet of choices to play our own version based on my core riff and rhythm. You get one from column A and two from column B kinda thing. :)
That keeps the engineering work to a minimum until a handful decide which riffs and arrangement they like best and can compile a mp3 and video. Until then, we all just have fun jamming along to the same tune, switching in and out as we please. That is until someone screams at us, "You go home now, fatboy! You been here four hour! You frighten my wife! You eat more than killer whale! Sign say 'All you can eat' not 'You eat all'!"
Here is some expressions added to the notes you were playing,
trying some hammer ons, pull offs, bends, slides and vibratos in those notes as you feel the way through the song...hope this helps give you ideas how to build on your sound and cool riffs.
This was a quick mess with it..hope it gives you some more ideas to try...let me know if you need a slower version as I'm always in a hurry....happy to join in if you need me
