Need help finding glue with specific properties, fix vibrating truss rod by squirting glue through holes??

I made a neck with a home-made truss rod, my favorite neck so far, only I forgot to add some caulk or other flexible glue around the truss rod to keep it from vibrating. It vibrates :( When I play one particular note, plus or minus around a little less than a whole step, the rod vibrates sympathetically and the note sounds awful, all the energy gone to vibrating the truss rod.

I hope to fix this by drilling down through the fret board in each of the places a fret marker would go, squirting some sort of glue down there, then filling the hole with a dowel. I'll cut and smooth over the dowel and have fret markers.

I picture the ideal glue for this as nonviscous to start with so it can penetrate up and down the rod a bit from each hole, then dry with enough flex left that the rod can do its job - not critical since it seems it was overkill for this guitar anyhow. I'm a little worried about diluting hide glue because the extra water would soak into the wood and possibly warp it, plus it needs to dry with no real exposure to air.

Any ideas??

How about expandable foam that hardens, like the kind used for insulation? Another thought is RTV silicon rubber used for molds. In it's liquid form it's about like syrup.

Thanks Skeesix, two good things to try.

I realized I want this to work enough that I'll make up a test case and try the different things. I saw some spray foam insulation in a can with a tube attachment to spray through,just not sure until I try it if it will harden enough. Sounds like a trip to the hardware store and Tap Plastics for mold supplies.

Just seen your post, have you managed to resolve this? If not how about injecting Gorilla Glue through holes under the markers. A hyperdermic syringe without a needle would probably do the job.
