Hi,

So I made a mistake and want to see everyone's opinion on how to fix it.

I spent a long time carving the neck and rounding off the heel only to discover that I rounded back too far and now the flat neck slots I made on my box don't match the rounded bottom of my neck. It's the right width/height but I have 2 rounded open areas on the bottom/sides of the neck when I put it in the box that I want to fill with something but IDK what I should use?

I've seen some CBG's use some kind of rubber or weatherproofing/foam maybe to fill those areas in?  I have wood filler but I think the space are a little too big for that and anyway if I ever have to take it apart they'd probably crumble.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,  a lot

What about a 3 sided 1/4" thick wooden frame/surround that follows the heel carve & covers up the gaps?

Carve out the shape of the neck with a thin scrap like so, It’ll hide the gap?

Label them as  " projective neck directional sound ports"    ;-)

but seriously ,, if  it is a wood box . try using some sawdust from the scrap piece ,, and mix it with glue to make your own color matching filler.

Been there, done that...

BrianQ's solution fixes the problem and adds a bit of style at the same time. It's how I fix my over-aggressive cuts.

Yes, that is what I was trying to describe,  Very nice, Brian!
