Was not sure where to post this topic, hope it goes in this forum ok....

This is my 1st attempt at a CBG, I'll call it a half build sense the neck was purchased fretted and shaped, I'll have to drill for the tuners and do some shaping on the head stock. Got the CB off Ebay. Pics are of where I am at presently, Kinda worried about the neck where it attaches to the box, looks like a weak area. Plans are to put a homemade Mag pickup in there (in the process of design and build) and a Piezo too. On the box I have cut out the shape of the ladies head as it will be the sound hole or at least one of them, not sure how many and of what size to make sound hole, I'll do a little at a time. As far as the nut, I'll either use Locus or bone, and still not sure about the bridge....if you see a problem area or have any suggestions , your welcome to pass it on.....I do plan on beefing up the inside of the box around the neck area for added strength and support.......

Thanks for looking...

  • looks like your off to a good start. as far as sound holes, smaller is usually better but its not a big deal with a mag pup in it. go with bone for the nut and bridge if you can, but almost anything sturdy will work for those.
