First off to all the Cigar Box Nation members, if you ever get a chance to see Moreland and Arbuckle....

..FOR GOD SAKE DO SO!!!!! They were terrific here in Atlanta! WOOOO HOOO. And GREAT guys to boot! They heard of us and know us to be fellow CBG musicians and are VERY approachable! GUYS GO TO THEIR WEBSITE AND SEE WHERE THEY ARE NEXT AND IF YOU CAN SEE THEM. They put on a short set for George Thorogood but really great!

I can't say enough about them and how super they were after their set. [Moreland, Arbuckle and Horner] were three of the best live performers and super guys to meet after the show. God bless 'em and great luck to the group. I stayed after their set before GT and got all their autographs and even after, I got them to sign my Macanudo box. What a fantastic thing to do eve tho they signed the CD.

  • Damn right Brian! And GREAT to meet up with you! What a chance meeting eh? You're the first from the site here that I have met in person.

Ya'll, I was right behind Brian and noticed he was taking pics. I gave him my card and asked for copies of the pics he was taking because all I stinkin' had was my phone cam. Left my other one in the car and couldn't go back to get it. Found out he's on here and builds/plays. Brian and I had a great time talking.

I can't wait to see the other pics :-)

Hey Wes, it was nice to meet you and to see your guitar. I just wish I had had mine with me!!! These folks were great! All BS aside, if you get a chance go see Moreland and Arbuckle. It was a rather large time. I have just about burnt up their CD already. These were some real stand up guys, not many folks stay out as long as they did, just hanging with the fans.
I have posted some pics in my photos. Here are a couple.

  • Sorry more shameless pics.

    The guys in full swing.

Just gotta hate when this happens to a perfectly good CBG. You understand, I'm all broke up about this. -WY
  • Aaron's CBG

It's solid inside and the neck is fretless. I will try to get better pics as soon as I can. -WY
  • Yeah, they rock the house. And like Wes said, really great people to boot.

I will say one word of warning, though, to any and all who are about to experience Moreland & Arbuckle live...

Make sure you wear your dancin' shoes. Cuz if you sit still through their show, you ain't go no pulse.
  • Oh BTW the CBG Aaron plays is not a Lowebow but made by a guy named Mike in Memphis. Hmmm interesting. The pups are hand wound and the neck is carved with a scarf head. tone and volume controls which really confused me at first. But it has the separate bass string (#4 string is a bass) with 3 single circular pups. Anyhow. VERY interesting to see.

I also met another CBN guy Brian who I chatted with at length. Cheers Brian!
