Hello! I'm new to CBG but not to guitars. I play blues on a guitar with a 25" scale and a humbucker at the neck. It came in a "high G" tuning, but I went to a low g for more growl. I've been cannibalizing nickel electric strings for it, but do you think it would sound good with the bronzewound strings most cigar box guitars come with? I've only ever used those on piezo guitars before. Thanks in advance!

  • Bronze is 12% tin (ferro-magnetic) and the rest is copper (non-ferro-magnetic) with maybe some trace other stuff.  Whereas Nickel is 100% ferro-magnetic.

  • Thanks for the reply! I actually got the answer I needed by poking around the site.
