I'm looking to find the learning CD/DVD that I see advertised here on CBNation.  When I click the link to Ken's ebay site, I see a nice collection of his teachings but I don't recognize any of them as being the one on the add titled "How to play 3 & 4 string cigar box guitar" for $9.99.

I would appreciate it if someone would point me to the best starter video by Ken.

Thanks,

Palmettoflyer

Sorry for any confusion. I am in the process of clarifying the auction titles.

This should help:

CD1 Vestapol Tuning (Open D) for 6 string & 3 string cigar box
CD2 Spanish Tuning (Open G) for 6 string
CD3 Comparing Vestapol and Spanish Tuning for 6 string
CD4 Cigar Box Guitar for 3 string
CD5 Cigar Box Guitar for 4 string
CD6 Cigar Box Guitar for 3 string Part 2 (Devil's Tuning Method)

See the 3 CD Set #2 to save $

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, Keni Lee

Keni Lee,

Thank you for the quick response and information.  I'll get my order in to you tonight when I get to my home computer.

I assume the CD1, 2, and 3 are required knowledge and theory before getting into CD4?

I've been playing standard for many years but never ventured into the world of open tunings and less than 6 strings.  So I am finding all the CBG information fascinating and extremely valuable.

Thank you,

Actually, you can start anywhere in the series. I tried my best to make the CDs self contained, but at the same time not reduntant. As for seeing the big picture, I initially learned on 6 string guitar in open tunings and then figured out how to apply this knowledge to cigar box guitar. So for best results, I would suggest 6 string first. You will then understand how easy it is to reduce to cigar box guitar. Additionally, please feel free to write to me, if any questions arise as you work through the lessons. Enjoy your practice. Thank you, Keni Lee

I should also mention, the pricing is still the same. Before the shipping was added separately to the $9.99 price. Today, they are priced $13.99 each (Free Domestic shipping) Add $1.50 for International shipping. Thank you for your interest. Keni Lee

Was looking for it yesterday myself

Thank you David for your interest. Here is the link to the auctions:

CD 4 & 6 = 3 string CBG / CD 5 = 4 string CBG / There is 3 CD Set #2 that saves $5 if you are interested in all 3. Please let me know, if I can be of further assistance. Thank you., Keni Lee

Keni Lee,

Thank you again for the help and most importantly, taking time to produce the teaching series.

I just placed my order and decided to go for the whole set.  Actually, it was the bag with the mojo bead draw string that sealed the deal for me! :)

I am looking forward to the hours of watching / learning / and practice.

Thank you again for your contribution to the music world.

Thank you Palmettoflyer for your purchase. Please feel free to write if, any questions arise as you work through the lessons. Enjoy your practice, Keni Lee

I placed my order early Friday morning and received my CD learning kit on Tuesday!  Great service and fast delivery.  Not only is Keni Lee a great musician, he knows how to make customers happy.

So far (Wednesday, only 1 day), I've made it to lesson 2b and committed to learning well the Fred McDowell tune in the instruction video.  To be at the beginning of a learning series and already playing great blues songs is a great testament to Keni Lee's teaching technique.  My only advise to others is to load the video into an editor of some kind that will allow you to loop or section out a portion at a time.  This way, you can repeat the key areas until they sink in.

One item that Keni Lee omitted in the instructions, or at least I haven't found it yet.  Is how to use the mojo beads?  I've tried several things with them but found just simply rubbing them between my fingers produces a better sound when I start to practice!

Thank you from a happy blues player :)  ..... Uh, I mean sad blues player .... you know what I mean!

Fantastic. Glad to hear your order arrived quickly and you are already digging right in. Please remember to feel free to write if any questions arise as you work through the lessons. Most of all relax, take your time, and enjoy your practice. Thank you for your purchase, Keni Lee
