I was thinking of an inexpensive solution for strap holders for a cbg. So far some ideas I've thought of are. 1/4 inch small bolt...maybe a large plastic thumb tack with a screw drilled in the middle...any other ideas appreciated. I so fair mainly just hold the guitar with no strap but it might be cool to incorporate straps. Thanks

  • Thank you everyone!!!!The most helpful forum on the Internet
  • Lowes has a 1 inch - 1 1/2 inch  gold-tone coarse thread screw. I think used for concrete or timbers. It has a rounded head that requires a star tip screwdriver, exactly the size of a standard strap holder. May need a slight predrill to avoid splitting wood. I have used many times. They work great. Cost less than 50 cents and look as good as any high priced mount.

  • Strap buttons are soooooo cheap from c b gitty why mess around with other stuff?

    • For the cool factor guy's, for the cool factor!!!! On one of my cbg's I went to the hardware store bought a brass screw and a brass lamp finial, cost more than $.90 but it's original and I had to think about how to do it.

  • Eye hooks. Slightly longer wood screws (as on my Swampy). Actual strap buttons (cheap on the Web). Big honking staples. Swivel snap hooks. Big Velcro strips. Piece of string and the curved head off a metal coat hanger (similar to a uke strap that hangs from the soundhole, and wraps around the lower edge and back). Friggin' Duct Tape, man!
  • Stack of old washers of various sizes on a wood screw.

  • You can find strap buttons from $0.90 a pair on the electric interweb
