What's up everyone? I am new to this whole deal. As in, building anything. Ever. I have some cigar boxes and I want to build a very basic, but dependable spring reverb pedal. Could someone provide me with a list of materials and/or a diagram of what needs to be where? Eventually, I want to move onto bigger and better things, but for now I feel confident enough to tackle this as a first project. Also, any helpful hints or tips are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. James

  • So... are you looking to build a stomp box or a spring-reverb?  Or a Stomp-Spring box?  :-)

Small computer speakers seem to work for the above...

  • Ok. I think the box should hold up so long as it's not being totally crushed...I've got an idea of where to start now, I only need to find a small enough, and maybe powerful enough speaker for a driver. I'll post everything once it's finished, or maybe jump back on here if I have any problems. Especially since I'm not so great with electronics. Thanks!
  • This kind of a big question - I would click on the "Free Plans" button at the top and start there.
Good luck - keep us posted and pics and such!!
Now, having said that - are you building a CBG or a Pedal??

    • I am going to build the pedal inside a cigar box. Then, hopefully, move on to a cbg and banjo. Should I look for any special types of cigar boxes for the pedal?
      • Small square boxes, like the Olivas or similar used to build amps with 3.5-4" speakers. If this is a stomp box you're thinking about, I'd be concerned about the box standing up to repeated foot pressure. Might wanna consider a mint tin or similar...
