OK I went and bought a few items from Gitty.. "Great Service and Fast" nothing bad to say.. I am getting ready for the fest and bringing the electric box guitar and changed out the piezo pup to the new one.. I have these so I can play with a humbucker and also combine it with the piezo.  But since the Piezo sounds so good I can't tell them apart.. I wanted it dirty.. any ideas??  thanks

  • Seems like I'm trying to make a piezo pup into an effect...

    My head is messed up..

  • Feed the output from a 386 amp into another 386 amp?

  • Yea I think you're right after talking to a few people... Thanks all
  • I throw mine in the compost pile - nice trashy tone! But, seriously I think a pre amp or a decent amp makes all the difference. I love my Roland cube amp
  • yea it it.. a shut off box turned into my Texas Electric... maybe just shove a pedal inside the box and call it quits!

  • Oooooooo....that's funky...looks like a fuse box.

    Huh.
  • Actually I wanted to switch LIVE from the humbucker to a combination humbucker piezo, using the piezo to dirty up the sound... I do this using the shut off handle on the box... so using this instead of a foot pedal...

  • HBB,

Dirty as in "slight fizz," "crunch," "lightly distorted," "raging metal skin flaying buzz saw?" A humbucker through a saturated tube amp is one of the most popular ways to get this. If all you're using is the piezo, then...

    One word: amp.

Depends on the amp itself, and the settings you use to saturate the tone for the level of distortion that sounds "dirty" to you. Are you bringing your own amp, or using whatever "backline" amps are available at the gig?
