I was casting about the net for some ideas for my next build and came across this speaker cabinet inspired folded horn box bass
This got me thinking about how one could get horny with instruments and the old time horned violins etc Edison used to use when recording to cylinders, some like those in this site
http://theoriginalcutouts.com/2013/06/12/ukulele-with-horn/
They also used to use papiermache cones like on the old phonographs so I am starting to wonder about using a cat food can at the bridge coupled to some plumbing fittings and a bit of anything from tin work to papiermache to carbon fibre for the cone.
At a more discrete level the horned ports on many speaker boxes at least look interesting without being so in your face out there.
Of course I could just plug it into an amp, but where is the fun in that?

I'm still gutted I didn't buy the Stroh violin
to convert before the price went up 300%
As I stupidly told him what it was he had.
But he still has it !
Wow. I have been nothing if I have not just been blown away by the display of total awesomeness flowing from your fingers and fertile brain.
Gotta finish off my pre-orders and get stuck into something with a bit of (steampunk bedamned) Edwardian funk.
