  • well my son came around as both my lads do on a Tuesday night.

showed me exactly how to tune the git so that is sorted.

he played my new guitar and said it sounded really nice and has a mellow sound(don't know where I went wrong or right there?)plugged it in and wow I like that both of us said.

the other 4 that I've made earlier sounded no where near as nice as this one(apart from the olive one that I made with a hum/pickupr.)

and he said the intonation sounded perfect.

by pressing on the 7th fret on the bottom fret it should sound the same as  mid/open in d and it does .

I tell you what,he's more knowledgeable than I thought he was on guitar things etc.

he also said dad  don't worry about what your right hand is doing just work on your left ,get those fingers working how you want and the other will come in later.you need to practice dad .lol

    so practice I will do.

  • Nice!!! Did you build the Box too?

  • That is a super nice build! Love the box and the epaulettes, great job!

  • lookin  good  man  .

  • and another thing.

I find it rather strange that they are certain members are full of advice but never comments on any ones builds inc mine.

    • Welcome to the Internet! :-)

      • yep internet is full of key board warriors.

there those who knows and those who think they know.

  • oh and thanks for the kind comments.

  • Nice build John

  • the leaves ...the green bit I just used a green high lighter pen and it worked.

the box was already made by Dark cat in turkey.

it fell on the carpeted floor and broke up inc one leaf fell off.

the glue they used must of been air fix glue next to useless .

re-glued it all back together with tight bond and strengthened the corners with wedges etc.

as for the neck, I used tulip wood .

    lovely wood to work with.

chicken john mention that what fender used in the early days.

I bough a spokeshave but the thing was useless so I used a grinder with a course pad.

took plenty of meat of in no time.

then I use a fine pad to dress it up and then used a 1" sanding roll fine and wet/dry very fine paper to finish off.

    smooth as a baby's bum.

the head stock ,I use the off cut what was left off the fret board. glued to either side.

oh and I didn't bother with fret markers on the front, well ya can't see them when ya playing so I just put them on the side using a copper part of the soldering iron.
