I made this for my son as said in the solid guitar post.

plugged it all in and she sound lovely,I've not tuned it, just by ear.

I'll let him do that.

I'm quite pleased with the results.

to get the pickup installed I just cut a grove into the neck from where the pick up to the bridge.

if you want more info on how I did it I'll post before pictures etc.

  • yeah those skeletal hands do fetch oit off nicely.

originally I wanted a black cover but not find one suitable.

kept looking at necklaces and came across these hands bingo! as you can see.

  • better still if I had the bugger right 1st time.lol

    • We've all been in that situation, John. If we got it perfect the first time, every time, we would be less human.

      • Besides, those skeleton hands give you bonus points.

  • That really turned out beautiful.

  • That is really beautiful!

  • just realize that some of the frets aren't in right.

so I'm going have to take them all out.

I had a feeling that s/steel is a bad idea.

so I'm going to buy some new nickle frets probably from chickenbone johnny!

    • When you say the frets aren't in right, do you mean they are in the wrong place?

      • they're in the right place but not seat properly and looks as they are twisted a little bit.

straight then about a 1/4" from the end a slight twist.

not sure how I'm going to rectify that with them being s/steel.

had a chance to check the sound and notice some didn't sound quite right on the 1st  string(bottom looking down)and I notice that some are not right as stated above.

this all learning process here for me.

        • Did you make sure that the slot is deep enough and that the tang on the fret wire is not bottoming out?
