Sometimes when something really important is on the tube (Buying Alaska or The Voice), my little darling appreciates a little more quiet. I guess that even if I'm in the garage the house gets a bit loud when I turn up my mighty $2.00 amplifier.

Further, as the temperatures have dropped (even here in the deep South) I might want to move inside just to protect the guitars from the frigid weather.

Sooooooooooo........I've been looking at different types of headphone amps. I keep seeing listings for the VOX AC30, but recently found a listing for the newer AP2AC which replaces the AC30 and has about nine built in effects in addition to the basic tone/volume/gain on the older AC30.

Has anyone had any experience with this product or anything similar? On paper, it sound very good and may allow me to keep practicing and warm my bones at the same time.

  • Good luck with that. It's freezing here in Bama, too. More winter weather coming tomorrow.
    • Yep, spring cannot come soon enough...
  • I don't have the answer but wish I was I the Deep South. It is freezing here in NJ. When I started my car on Friday the temperature said it was minus 2. My garage is no different.
  • I have the Metal version. It puts out great sound. I have a can speaker with a carabiner on it, so I hook it into that, attach it to the strap, and turn them on.
