<p>Hi Randy. I attached the 1/4" cable right to the element. You just have to figure out what lead is + or -. The hardest part was finding an old rotary phone that had a chrystal element, also I had to modify the mouth piece to accept the ear piece element as the housing. It sounds pretty sweet but I wished there was enough room for a volume pot.</p>

<p>Hey not much traffic? Like the instructable! Could you have used a pizeo (spelling I know) in place of an element from an old mic? I'm really interested in building a mic once I get my build and know a condensor mic should work in theory. Eventually want to tackle a ribbon if I can find someone with experience to guide me through.</p>
