  • I determine the scale of the build by the length of the stick I have to work with. 

    I work backwards, in that I'll measure out to the scale I'm going to use.  In your example I'll stretch out the tape measure to 25 inches and determine where on the CBG body I want the bridge to be placed.  I then build around that ballpark measure.

  • The distance from the nut to the highest bridge saddle is 25".

    The 12th fret is exactly half the length of the vibrating string.

    So basically, place the bridge about 2/3 of the way back on the box, then measure 25" up the neck and that's where the nut will be.
