I'm working on a ukulele and I've cut the headstock in a classical style but now the tuners have come in and I've realized I can't get them. I've seen others do this, like the pics below:

I've got the same pegs but cannot figure out how to get them in there.

  • On the Fluke / Flea ukuleles, the friction tuner knobs are oriented so they stick out from either side of the headstock as you can see in the two photos you provided. On other ukuleles which used the "classical style headstock" (a flat headstock slanted back using a 15 degree scarf joint), the tuner knobs are locate on the back side of the headstock mounted perpendicularly to the headstock. You can Google “Gibson ukulele headstock photos” to get some pictures of how they mount tuners.

    • By classical I meant classical guitar style headstock. I didn't know what else to call them. The problem is I can't figure out how they got those friction pegs in there as they have to be inserted from the inside out.
