fret wire

If I use gold fret wire, an need to file it level, will the fret wire still be gold on top?

Yes the fret wire is gold all of the way through so you can file it and recrown it as much as you need. Sorry I missed you earlier when you asked on the chat. I'll add you as a friend and you can shoot me a message for any additional questions you have.
