I use that all the time. I have a jar with all my most often used templates. I just tape them on the neck/fingerboard, mark the fret positions, then peel the tape off and reuse them.

If you make your templates out of aluminum they'll last a lot longer.

I had actually toyed with doing just that. But, to be honest, I have the same paper templates I printed three years ago, and they are still in perfect shape.

But, like they say, whatever works for you is what is best!  :-)

Uh oh.  I just looked for FretFind 2D, and it is no longer there.  Anyone know where it might have gone?

It was the one I  used, and it was the only one I could get to work with a  Mac.

OH no! Sorry to hear that Fretfind2d is gone. That was really nice and of course work for mac. Glad I already have some printed out.

if you have an iphone, i use an App called JeFretCalc. its great for what i do. Give it a go. you can put in any scale and it gives you the measurements for each fret
