Great start love the red box. Like the bottle opener design on the head stock nice touch. You need some frets on there or at least some fret markings but that just me. Great first build can't wait to see your 10th. PS wecome!
Thanks for the comments Shawn, glad you like it. Frets are a luxury so i just put me an octave marker on there with some blue painters tape till i get the hang of it. Im sure there will be a 10th so i will keep posting. Happy building.
Looks good, how does it sound?
cool box, and look like you've got some wood working skills too.., nice build.
i see you maybe getting adventurous with a laminated neck next too ..!!
I am going to try that with my next , fingers crossed
Micheal, it sounds pretty good. I need to lower the bridge and nut as well as cut some soundhole into it and it will probably gain a little in the way of projection.

Peter, thanks for the compliments. It is cherry and oak and it is laminated, solid. Think I will scarf this the laminated neck as well.
I've found that fretwire is dirt cheap. But there are alternatives, like flat toothpicks. They wear out, but refretting is a snap.

Otherwise, mark fret locations with a wood burner for a rustic look.
LUV that red box. Really like the simple and elegant approach.
Kewl!

Very nice! Love the headstock!
Thanks for all the input guys. I will soon have more projects to look at. Slice if tree body, electric upright, 4 string, 42 inch scale. Ambitious? I have caught a serious bug, turning everything I see into a guitar. Does this sensation wear off? hahahahah
Great looking first build! No it doesn't wear off.....(the sensation)
I see yer next victim...the Indios box laying in wait....those sound great as well.
Go here for yer fret stuff...small batches, great prices...nuff said...http://www.cbgitty.com/cubecart/
