fiddlestick??

I want to convert my fiddlesticks into a 2 string bass guitar with no frets.

diglydog video recommend that the neck need to be angled.

by how much? and what point do I need to cut down?

looks to me its down from 1" to a 1/4" but no mention of length.

I've not made any attempt as yet and not likely to for quite awhile.

I'm just gathering info in advance the more the merrier..

  • Ah, a Fiddlestick bass - now there's an idea.

To be honest, it's all a bit 'trial and error'.  I just shaved the neck extension (the bit inside the body) down until the angle was about right.  I judged that by running a straight edge along the fingerboard to see where the bridge height would be.  It's not possible to say what dimensions you'll need as they will be specific to the instrument that you're sacrificing.

Good luck with the project.  The results can look nice but they are a bit tricky to build.  As an aside, I believe that you may be able to soften the glue with moderate heat to remove the back.  If it works, that would be easier than the brute force approach.
