  • This happens routinely with Hotmail and Yahoo accounts. Was your new account set up with one of them?

        • not that i know of. i think maybe like dan mentioned its just a random name generation thing as its just badwolf @ should have put a 1 or something in there i guess. oh well i guess its not a big deal i was just curious if anyone else had problems. i know sometimes spammers have web spiders that search websites for emails or whatever thought maybe that had happened here

          • Once and a great while someone like " I.M. Friendly" manages to get approved as a member, joins several groups in just a few minutes, and sends out messages to everyone who has allowed email alerts from the groups. It's usually something like " Joe Guy's Fly-By-Night Online Lumberyard "

            • Yea, but I have gotten pretty good at catching them and denying their membership. Lots of them are using disposable email addresses just so they can register. If I see someone registering with a disposable email address, I automatically deny them membership.

  • I doubt it is coming from here. The spammers just use random name generation stuff to find emails that are not posted anywhere. I had the same thing happen to me a while back.
