I was wondering how much you can trim off of a piezo disc and still have it work? I'd like to build them into the bridge/saddle but want to keep the bridge/saddle small, hard and un-obtrusive to box graphics. They are so sensitive to touch when just mounted to inside of box. I'm thinking that if the string vibration is the main thing the piezo is receiving that box microphonics would be reduced?
I know I can just cut some down till they stop working but figure someone has already done that and the rod type piezos are a bit pricey.
Thanks for any help you can render.

The rod type ones are fairly cheap if you are happy to buy from China/Hong Kong and wait a couple of weeks for delivery.
