coat hangers and chopsticks.

Ever noticed that sawing a wooden hanger in half gives it a perfect shape for a ukulele neckpiece ?. I use three halves glued together, with a fretboard on top and voila! 

As far as tuners go, chinese chopsticks are marvelous friction tuning pegs.

Thanks. It is funny how these ideas hit you in the head when you are thinking about something else.  Like a boomerang you tossed and forgot to retrieve.
