choosing the right CB

Looking for some guidance in choosing a cigar box for building my first CBG. I have 2 padron 7000 boxes, a padron diplomatico, a Punch No.6T and a Holy Lance box. The 2 padron7000's don't have a latch on them. Will this be a problem when building? Is the Diplomatico too thin to use? And, what is a good size box to use? I plan on starting out building a 3 string and will post photos when complete.

I'd appreciate any help on these questions.
