Thought I would post a cheap easy way to make Saddle slots in bridges. You can make compensated or straight like a classical.

Make the board long so you can feed the bridge with your finger away from the router bit I'm using a 1/8 in. Just drill two holes and countersink the bottom , I used 3/16 bolts  Phillips headed and nylock nuts. The rubber parts are amp feet I put on my amps but any rubber bushing and washers will do.

If you mark the bridge then just place it in the jig and line the mark up with the bit tighten the bolts. The tape on the fence shows the bit placement the tape on the jig are the start stop lines. If you making a bridge for a under saddle pickup make a few passes 1/8 deep passes just short of your stop lines, then the last pass go to the lines.

My main reason for posting this if you aren't or haven't used piezo rod pickups in a cbg you should.

Good trick with the washers and stoppers, I have some rods coming from Gitty right now, might try something similar this weekend.

Thanks wes.

They sound really good clean turtle not best for distortion, but 10 time better then disks for feedback. I plug my 3 string in to my SWR bass amp turn it 3/4 volume not a bit of feedback sitting in front of the amp. Plugged in to my PA next to speaker no feedback.

Yup.  I've been using the flat violin style ones underneath a floating bridge for a while with pretty good results. Looking forward to a little more of a woodworking project with the rods.

Turtle all my guitars are floating except my ukes, trying to get away from bone saddles I have used Corian on the rod pickup it work well.  might try the Graph Tech TUSQ but double the cost. But by far the best thing over disk is the feedback reduction.

That looks like a great idea, must try!

The little effort is worth the sound BH.
