My cheap n' easy solution: I stained my neck a charcoal color, and wanted my fret markers to match the mother-of-pearl-look tuning pegs. Went down to a local music store and got some heavier picks that had the same mother-of-pearl-look, used my trusty Home Depot multi-hole punch that happens to have a punch that was the perfect size.... then made any necessary adjustments up or down to the screws in the neck so that with a little glue, the discs would be perfectly level with the neck, and…

Cheap n' easy and they look great :)
Thank you :)tag:www.cigarboxnation.com,2022-05-14:2592684:Comment:37113982022-05-14T04:30:13.281ZValla Eirikssonhttps://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/VallaEiriksson

I have had good luck filling holes with paint or fingernail polish. Just as a variation. Toothpicks, bamboo skewers, chopsticks, screws and such as well.

Hi, here is a cheap marker solution, but it takes the same effort as installing pearl dots. if not more. But we don't mind it not being too easy...do we?

Not going off topic, some super glue dry clear and some dry a white residue. I always use Loctite brand for it stays clear.

I also experimented with acrylic paint to fill in as inlays. The cheap dollar store brand too. It turns into a hard plastic in a ventilated area. It shrinks a little bit, but in your case, shirt button sized holes, a dab in each hole with your favorite color of acrylic paint, let it dry overnight and then sand over the excess.

I remember a brief correspondence with CB on the repairing of this site. He was concerned and had his tech people on the case, they fixed some things but not the major ones such as posting. I used to post fine until something broke around 2 years ago. Anyway, they can't find it and I don't blame them, it's a can of worms.

Perhaps archiving this site, as is, for future reference and create a fresh new forum. Other forums I visit, have done this, saving old content into a subforum and starting anew. Only thing, the site will have to be shut down for a couple weeks for the maintenance...
