CBG ADHD

This is probably to many projects to have going at one time. I'm great at these rough start ups, I need to finish these up but I need to decide on a scale length. Should I stick with the old 25"/25.5" standby or do something different for the smaller boxes? I'm open to trying a shorter scale.

  • You could consider a uke or two. Four lengths to choose from, good match for smaller boxes.
  • I left out some info, only one neck is cut to length, the rest aren't. I had a pic with my fat finger in the way so I didn't include it. For whatever reason, I like the shorter neck and that may be a vanity thing. I also play a Strat but I think I like the playability of Gibson's scale better because the looser strings are easier to bend. That's probably not a huge issue with the CBG.

  • since you already have necks on them, figure out where your bridge will sit, figure out how big your headstock on the already attached necks will be, the difference is your scale, make minor adjustment to tweak it longer/shorter to a scale length you can work with (24, 24.5, 25, 25.5 in, or 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 cm)

  • Smaller box's may need a shorter scale to plot the bridge in the ideal spot. Also looks like your necks are already made, how will you change the scale lengths?  Just wondering.
