Can I do this to my CBLowebow???

Well, I've had my Lowebow for less than a year but I'm seein' some deterioration on the cigar box under where I pick... Okay, I am a thrasher but is it okay to take some of that clear plastic laminent and cut it to size and carefully lay it over that area??? I guess this question would also apply to CBGs... I mean, there's gotta be a way to protect the box... Ya'lls thoughts. por favor...

  • See, Rockerman.... At least I ain't talking duct tape here but 'bout another 6 months and that poor Lowebow would need duct tape....

    Thanks, B-Doughboy...
  • What's the diff, R-Man??? I mean, on one hand you say that if I put a thin clear plastic laminant about the size of a cigarette pack over where I am playin' my Lowebow to pieces that I', "phuk"in' up John's instrument and on the other hand...

...It's okay to spray it with hair spray or chemicals (poli)???

    Hmmmmm???

Me thinks that you have been playin' with the "one holer" again...

(Don't Bogart that joint my friend, pass it over to me...)

    lol...

BTW, the plastic laminent is sold for the purpose of being used on instruments... Hair spray ain't...
  • how about an archtop style 'floating' pickguard that is mostly off of the body?? they look pretty cool too...
  • Hey, science is back in, Rockerman... Ain't ya' heard???... Yeah, the flat earthers is movin' on little doggies...

I know... You just want me to play my Lowebow to pieces do you can build me a Rockerbow... Well, build it anyway... I'll tell everyone who asks about it that you made it and give 'um yer website...

Meanwhile, bring on the helmit and kneee pads...

Bobz, what's the name of Willie Nelson's guitar?

I say just play it till it falls apart. A plastic pickguard on a LoweBow is like you wearing a helmet and knee pads when you learned to ride a two wheeler. You were SPECIAL then, and so was the little bus that picked you up in the morning.

Ben ain't nowhere near wearing his out yet, and you got some catching up to do.

    SPANK IT!

You got some miles to go with the Back Porch'r too...

    Get to work!

    tc

(and look at jacob all scientific)
  • Yo, Rockerman,

My CBL has more wear on it in the little time I've been playin' it than Ben's has in the couple two 'er three years of him playin' his...

If it were the B-P'r it would be different 'cause its wood.... I don't want to play my Lowebow to pieces... I'm gong with the helmit and the knee-pads...
  • Thankee again, Jacob...

Great joint... I found what I need in no time, have book-marked the site and life is good...
