Building a Collection

to any and all,

i am building a small collection of CBGs from other builders.

So far i have a Papa Chuck, an LJ, a Gugen (sp?), a Lowebow, and a Shane Speal.

any other builder reccomendations?

names added to the list to get, Daddy Mojo, BluesBoy Jag, Red Dog Guitar, Barefoot Cajun, LoweBrow from Old Lowe, and Smokehouse Guitars. keep em comin

I don't have any that I didn't build myself, so I can only go by reputation, but I would include Red Dog and Smokehouse guitars. There's also a guy on a gun board I frequent who builds. I don't know if he's a member here. He goes by ScreamingCockatoo there, but I don't know his name. Anyway, he builds some nice ones.

oh one other thing i always forget, this isnt limited to big time builders or professional builders, anyone who builds feel free to reccomend yourself, i just ask that if you do please note if you would be willing to trade an Uncle Crow for one of yours and how much you would like for one. thanks again

Hey Man Darren Brown and Bayshore are pretty highly thought of... I talk to Darren all the time I don't know how hard it is to get a Bayshore.... Sounds like you are off to a nice start - Jim

any and all are welcome, when you got a shane speal Old Faithful replica (made by shane speal) hanging on the wall next to one of your own personal failed experiments you dont care. its not about the instruments or how big of a name as the makers are, if you put your heart into the build becuase you love doin it then it deserves to be in my collectionm. so, on that note, take a trade?

Hi.

I think that if I were collecting I too would start with a Red Dog (already on your list). I would also want at least one from Jay at Tiny Guitars and one from Juju would also be irresistible. Others that appeal are ones from MichaelS (Country Boy Guitars). which I think have a very distinctive look, particularly the headstock shape. There are so many wonderful ones out there that is becomes hard to choose.

What a fun thing to do. I hope you post pictures once your collection is up and running.
