The lug on the 250k pot I have is not reaching up and over like on this pic. I'm able to get the lug to kind of be pushed toward the corner of the back of the pot but not over it (more like almost touching the corner. Is there another way to solder the ground ? Any tips appreciated.

  • I use a small piece of paperclip wire.

  • I run a wire to the tail piece and allow room for a small brass washer which the middle string runs thru. My string run up thru the tail piece.

    • That works fine if you have a metal bridge or nut,but if they are not conductive, only the middle string is earthed

    • Thanks I'll try that
  • Thanks everyone do I also need a ground from back of pot to bridge?
  • I don't try to bend lugs up, too much risk of breaking something internal.  I just solder a short wire to the back of the pot and then to the lug.

  • just add a short bit of wire Jon,but if the tag is even just touching that will be enough to solder, but if it doesn't touch,i wouldn't try to bridge the gap with solder,as joint failure is likely
