"Barn Find" Vintage Teisco Hoard!

Ted Crocker tells me that CBN has a Teisco group, and that I need to share pictures of my Hoard with you folks. So, here I am.... Anonymous Pick, we need to talk.

Recently, a friend of mine, that is an auctioneer at the local farmer's market calls me all excited and tells me that I need to grab some cash and get to his auction A.S.A.P.

Well, I know this guy is not the excitable kind, so of course I jumped into the truck and went to see what all the excitement was about.

Well, here it is.... an incredible hoarder stash of vintage 60's Teisco Guitars. In all their grungy, rusty goodness. I managed to get the entire stash.

I will be taking a few days to post everything, and yes they are in rough shape... but, still well worth the effort to rescue them.

ERRRRRR, I might be attracted to Relic #9 - Decca...

Something about that pickguard reminds me of my 60's Teisco DelRay...

Yea, the condition is heartbreaking. But, I look at the Automobile collectors out there. Look at the horrid, rusted out, rat infested junkers that they pull out of barns and scrap yards to build beautiful Custom Hot Rods. I see these as great opportunities to customize and "Rat Rod" a vintage Teisco designed guitar that would otherwise be unthinkable with a guitar in better condition. Imagine the possibilities for one-of-a-kind builds.

For example, the Sekova Bass (#11) was extensively termite damaged, but the tuners, pickups, and hardware were usable. The Generic "Ibanez" Bass (#14) had a serviceable neck, and so I built a Mashup Custom Bass.

Yes, this post is coming a little late to the party, but I've only sorted through a few of these guitars, I still have a long ways to go. I only yesterday learned that CBN has a Teisco Group.
