I have some of the C.B.Gitty tuners with bushings that they describe as 8.2mm push in variety. I have watched the YouTube video elsewhere on the site but it doesn't say whether the holes should be exactly this size or if the hole should be a little tighter to keep them in place. I am using a maple headstock overlaid with a sheet of 2mm thick ebony, if that makes any difference to my options.
Many thanks from Bill.

The bushings are 8.2mm so they will tightly fit into an 8mm hole. For these type of tuners I drill 8mm for the depth of the bushing and then drill through with a different bit for the shaft (usually 6mm). You can use a resin mallet to hammer in the bushing when you come to fit the tuners.

All the best from Bill. :D
I found the tuning pins are more stable without the bushes, drill 6mm and they will sit in firmly allowing turning without being loose (-:
