Our good friend, and CBN site monitor  Dan Sleep , has  recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.

The chemo is making him  too sick to work in his shop.
So,  he will be unable to complete any orders for his guitars or pickups , or spend time on CBN while he concentrates on getting well. He is now being treated as outpatient, so he is at home, and welcomes emails to his Humidor Guitars address .  dan@humidorguitars.com   (please refrain from using cbn mail .)  In talking with him , recently, we decided that I post  this announcement  for him , so he does not  have to deal with explaining it all repeatedly, or deal  with new order inquiries for his items at this time .

His shop is closed indefinitely until he  feels better….. And we all hope that is soon .

Our thoughts are with you Dan .

  • Hello to all my CBN friends, and thanks so much for all the kind notes, emails, and prayers.

When I first was diagnosed, it was a total blindside...I suppose they all are.  One of the first things I did was to get away from all my public media groups and forums. I felt like I really needed to concentrate on "me" and to try to get a handle on what I needed to do next. Facebook, CBN, and other web forums wound up to be more of a distraction than anything, so I closed my accounts until I thought I could manage them.

Though I still have some bad days (really bad days), I think I am to the point where I can contribute to CBN, even if only in a limited amount. I can't guarantee how quickly I may respond, or what quality my contributions might be. I have looked at some of the things I have written lately an some of them look like they were written by an 8 year old. My wife and I call it "chemo brain". But at least I have not started leaving my keys in the refrigerator.

Again, I can't express how much I appreciate all the support and prayers, much of it from total strangers. I am doing my best to win this battle so I can grow old with my family, my loving wife, the world's best grandsons, and loads of great friends.

    Dan

    • Dan,

Sending more healing prayers your way. I know what you are doing is tough. We are here, your brethren, doing what we can. Don't worry about chemo brain responses. Or about doing anything on CBN. Focus on healing.

We'll even help you find yer keys...
    • Very good to hear from you, Dan.  Good wishes and another prayer sent.
