    • Very nice

  • Here, have a look at this amp in a git in a couple of my first CBN vids. It has a piezo. It rocks:

    • AWESOME thank you

  • The piezo will pick up everything, handling noise, plucking of strings, vibrations from the neck and box and the speaker. You might need to close in the speaker some by building a box within a box. Might work fine, try it and see. May add a little echo/reverb effect that would be beneficial, may be too much and need to be subdued.

    • One more thought... would a bar piezo be any different? as far as picking up vibration as it would be directly under the bridge and not in the box!

      • I've used quite a few bar piezos and like them. They pick up more of the strings and less of the extraneous box sounds. They do not necessarily have less volume/output. depends on your setup. I'm currently building a fretless standup bass using a rod piezo, with a preamp and amp/speakers built into the box. I'll let you know how it turns out.

      • Haven't used one yet, but I've heard they have less volume/output and most people use a preamp with them.

This would probably work out better for you since your using a amp and speaker in the box and they don't have as much a problem with handling noise and feedback as the disc types do.

        • Tnx Paul.... I think the bar is the way to go.... with sound proofing a second compartment..... again I will keep you posted

          • Keep us posted to help others know. I've seen solid body guitars like this before, so I know it's possible.
