aluminium bobbins

I want to make a few single string diddley bow pickups with sewing machine bobbins.Would it be ok to use aluminium bobbins?....

Better coils would be nice.

Get a set of P Bass pickups like Gitty sells and mount one over the other and over the strings on a CBG. That would be cool and it would be a humbucker. ;)
