This time I got two bass necks. One four, one five string. Both unfretted. Will have to find out what size frets to put in them. And two more fretted guitar necks. So far I'm really happy with the necks. Now i need to find the time to start making bodies for these things. Again here's the link to this sale http://www.guitarfetish.com/Factory-Buyout-Clearance-Sale_c_410.html

  • My AutoRATic is 3/4 in. plywood for it's back. A narrow open cavity above that with 1/4 ply on top. Holds up very well.

  • Wayfinder. I think they're selling to people like us. Folks who have no clue what they're doing. : )

Scruggy,if it's going to be that expensive it would be better to buy a quality neck. Know what your getting instead of taking a gamble. Between shipping and the neck you could be looking at $100+. Probably not your best option. Try pawn and music shops first. For a bit more you would be getting usable parts as well.

    • Another thing most CBGs have a through neck going through the whole box! Anyone got any pics or vids of putting a real neck on a cbg? Like how is it supported?
  • I'd a been upset as well Scott. Especially if it wasn't advertised as a one direction truss rod.

Scruggy, this order was $21.64 US for me. Probably because of the odd size box. Ya, they charge for that too.

    • If it's that to mail to US it prob be closer to $50 at least to Ireland!
  • I would have to agree with Wayfinder. I snagged a guitar for $99. Got a great neck, tuners, nice pickups and working electronics. Divide that up into four groups, ( neck, body, electronics, hardware ) comes to $25 a piece. The only drawback of buying cheaply made guitar is you don't know it's overall quality. Both Scott aka Farmer Ted and I have ended up with unusable necks. Scott from a kit guitar and me from a $15 yard sale find. Pawn shops and sometimes resale shops might have something. Even really beat up and ugly hanging used in a music shop would work. Not buying it for looks.

    • Yep, I was really pissed about that neck too. But maybe I'll put it in the parts stash for a lapsteel build in the future...put a taller nut on it.

  • Wonder how much these guys charge to ship to Europe?
  • Actually hard to see all the details in the necks as well. All the necks I've got have problems of one sort or another. But nothing some simple fixing cant remedy. I was really afraid I'd end up with a hand full of fretted baseball bats. But each neck is thin and comfortable
