My question is this- how do some of yalls final guitars look so neat and professional? I’m still trying to figure out the correct order so I don’t get everything messy. Inevitably, no matter how long I have let stain set or paint dry it always gets somewhere it’s not supposed to on the guitar- fretboard to neck or vice versa. Any advice to get your neck to have that factory polish or overall look compared to subpar stain and raggedy look?

So I'm just close to finish the guitar on the pic but have some challenges ahead. It has maple back, alder sides, spurce top and mahogany neck. The goal is to give it a solid dark brown color. I was thinking about wenge water based stain and water based lacquer.Do you have any experiences in coloring different kinds of woods to the same solid colour? Do you know any tricks? Have any idea? Any advices?

I'm working on my third build. It's one for an old high school buddy in another state. He saw my video and wants me to build him one. We've chosen the Punch box for his body and I want to stain the neck a blue to match the box. What's a good hardwood that will accept stain well and won't warp a lot in the Iowa humidity this summer? I was considering birch but another post mentioned that it tends to detune with the weather.

I'll probably build two, one for him, and one for me. the stain idea makes me want one like it.
Wood Stain helptag:www.cigarboxnation.com,2009-09-22:2592684:Topic:1137192009-09-22T00:00:47.154ZCasey joneshttps://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/CaseyHigley
I plan on staining my CBG neck soon but im not sure what to use...Ive been told certain kinds will make the wood rise or make the wood become sticky...i have a lowe's and home depo near me any suggestions? preferably something easy for a first timer, like an easy 1-step...all ive come across is "minwax, PolyShades (stain & poly in 1 step) classic oak stain" but ive been told its sticky
