Hey Guys,

I'm new to the whole CBG movement. I've just finished my first and have just made the box from scratch as I'm trying to stay true to the philosophy and use what I have in the garage. Is there many people still making and playing these? I'm based in Chch, btw.

I was thinking about buying some cheap ukulele fretboards, but something nagged at me in the back of my mind and I did a bit of research. It seems that new regulations apply from the beginning of this year and if I import anything it needs to come with a CITES certificate.

Hi,

I'm new to the NZ group and in the process of making a CBG. Does anyone know of a local source for suitable cigar boxes?

They are few and far between and costly on Trademe, and it costs an arm and a leg to get one from the US, so I am interested to get any ideas.

How about we get together and have a bot of a jam / gig / festival celebrating the cigar box guitar...?

Yes I know its easy to say but how cool would it be to get together as a group and just kick it off.

I really want to do this, dont matter how we sound, its the spirit of it that counts.

Hi, I'm a new member here from Hamiton.

Am looking at building my first cigarbox guitar and was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to find them around Hamilton? I have been looking on trademe, but I would prefer to actually see the box to get and idea of size and stuff before buying it.

Any help would be wicked

Cheers

Ok guys, here's a little thought

How about we all think of a chord sequence, say, simple 12 bar, record it individually and then stitch it all together into one single song, sort of like a massive jam...??

I have the studio equipment to assemble the different recordings, all we need to do is think of something then all record it and see what happens?

What d'ya reckon?
