Pickup Wiring
Here is a quick one (I think).
In some wiring diagrams they direct you to ground the pickup to the bridge, I tried this once and I got a loud buzz.
Now I just wiring the Pick-Ups to the Pots to the Jack.
And comment on this?

A ground wire from the circuit to the bridge grounds the strings, which in turn grounds everything when you touch them. This is done on almost all factory electrics as far as I know, and eliminates hum particularly with single coils. If you got a bad buzz on yours when doing this I would suspect another problem in the wiring. I am speaking of magnetic pickups.

Yep. The guitar itself needs to be grounded. Make sure your ground is in a single line. Everything is part of the ground but nothing is grounded twice. You can split the ground. Just can't loop it.

Are you sure it was the ground and not the signal side you connected to the bridge?
