So I might be putting myself out here as a crackpot, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has this worry. Do/did any of you builders have a worry when selling/giving away a c.b.g. that another builder might see/use it and scoff at your handiwork? It might just be because I have yet to break the over 20 builds mark, but it still worries me a little when faced with a sell.

Everyone I made for someone else, I was nervous as hell sending for just that reason. And it's like I hope they like it...... I hope they like it untiI hear from them.

Don't be scared....look...your's have to be better than mine?

I will admit to having compared my stuff to other builder's creations. Sometimes I come out on top (in my opinion), other times, not so much. Make the best instrument you can and don't worry about it.

Here's a few more ...don't worry there are far worse ones to have.... send me a free one and I will tell you if it's any good or not...LOL

I automatically assume that any builder out there is going to not only scoff at my stuff, but may die laughing...

I'm there with you. I still post videos with my construction details so that even if someone wants to scoff I have a chance to improve.

I still have to admit a persistent curiosity and worry about my steampunk guitar I sent out to my buddy Ron. I know it is a good guitar to me, but I wonder constantly about it even with his direct feedback.

I sell stuff all day and every day as a profession, but because of the artistic and technical elements of this hobby I don't care to sell my CBGs.

I worry less if people like my singing...

Separation anxiety. Hahahha. Seriously. I can stop thinking about it anytime. Tomorrow sounds good.

My 8 year old niece has the third guitar I built and I just heard she was practicing a song so she could go out and make some money like the people she saw in NYC and Boston. That makes me feel great.

 im working on 41 and 42 right now . I have only kept 1 . that was my first one . I havnt sold any .....yet ;)  Hell I want other builders to comment and play mine . Best ones are the ones that wont BS you  and that way they can give you pointers where need be .  No matter what we are all human and we will compare our work to each other every time . But screw it man ya gotta kick that worry outta ya head . Sell or give them away . if not your gonna be stuck with a hundred guitars collecting dust in the attic and always wondering if they suck or not .
